George C. Marshall High School Orchestras
The George C. Marshall High School Orchestra, located in Falls Church, VA (Fairfax County) consists of roughly 140 students in grades 9-12 performing in five classes. The GCM Orchestras have a tradition of excellence, consistently earning high ratings at the VBODA All-District Performance Assessment as well as appearances in Orlando, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville.
The vision of the GCM Orchestra program is to provide a high-quality musical experience for its student musicians that is both challenging and engaging. Students develop individual and ensemble musicianship and technique, while learning about and performing various styles of music. The GCM Orchestra program fosters a collaborative, supportive, and fun environment, where students can be a part of something larger than themselves.
Directed by Catherine Bond, the GCM Orchestra program hopes to provide aesthetically satisfying and inspiring performances, while making lifelong supporters and advocates of the arts in both its audience and members.
